Memories

I thought this was a good cop-out on a post (as it's been 2 freaking months, I guess it's about time to update SOMETHING). Don't worry, one of these days I'm going to finally have some extra time on my hands, and will get you a good post with real pics and everything. lol. But for now, please follow the instructions below and leave a memory! I emphasize that even if you don't know me well or think it's a stupid memory or whatever, share it anyway!
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.
It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. Thanks ya'll! Love ya!

I have lots of fun memories. Like you and Jana and Rachel bringing us presents right after Stryder was born. Going to the Dixie Chicks concert right after you had Mallory. Lots of games and card playing and long talks. It's been so nice to talk and relate with you about our pasts. Thanks for being such a good friend.

Most of my favorite memories with you were in a car! Our road trips are just awesome! This is mainly because of the Dixie Chicks, New Found Glory, Keith Urban, and Martina McBride blaring that we do! Ü

I remember once when I was maybe about 8 or 10, I was sick (like laid up/ couldn't get out of bed kind of sick) and you came in and gave me one of those fruity carbonated drinks you always used to have that were SO good and you massaged my back with that little smiley hand massager you used to have and that made me feel really good.

I also remember when you took us to The Lion King in the theater as a reward for cleaning. That also made me feel special.

Another memory that comes to mind is when Ryan was a baby and we pushed a stroller down to the cabin with you, me, and Meghan walking and Ryan in the stroller. I remember that we kept laughing and you kept telling me not to make you laugh because having two kids is not good for the bladder strength. You didn't pee your pants though and we made it down there safely with a few funny memories.

Lots and lots of laughs.

I'll leave you with one final thought: I wanna trip and not fall.

Most of my memories have to do with me antagonizing you to the point that you would man handle me (usually by the hair) and either throw me outside, or in a different room. However, as I got older that started to decrease in regularity, and we actually got to know each other as friends. I think some of the best times with you were after you moved back home. I think both of us had had a long enough break from each other that we really appreciated being able to spend time together. It was good times. I have to admit that most of my good memories are playing games. It seems like that is what we do best. I will always remember the one and only time we were put together while playing nerts. Had we been a little smarter we would have hustled the other a little bit more, but that was never our style back then. I think everyone gave up after we had tripled all their scores.
I also remember staying with you for a few weeks after my mission, on a couple occasions. During the first trip, Tara set me up with Jess, and you were right there the whole time wanting to know the play-by-play. The second trip you were still totally involved as well, only this time it was helping me to plan out how I was going to propose, and making sure that I had all of the necesities, flowers, a ring, you know just the average stuff.
You have always been interested in all of our lives, and are always willing to help. I guess that's what being the oldest is all about, but you do it better than most.

I wasn't going to spend the time to add comments tonight, because it is already so late and it takes me forever. But as I was reading the other comments, all kinds of memories started running through my mind. I remember you screaming whenever loud noises started - like motorcycles or lawn mowers. You hated loud noises. I remember that I couldn't wait to get home to you when I had Laura, but when I got home, you didn't want me to hold you, you wanted to hold Laura!! I remember trying to calm your fears when you went to school and the one day you hid at the side of the house because you didn't want to go. I wish now that I had walked you to school every day. I remember long talks in the evening sharing feelings and frustrations - even when you weren't that old. I remember being a room mother in your class. I remember going to see your performances when you were in the drill team and watching you practice in the back yard. I remember making a really intricate pink dress for one of your school dances. Grandma did the handwork. You said one young man said he asked you to dance so he could dance with that dress. It wasn't quite finished. I remember leaving you in Utah when we moved to Nevada - not a good memory!! I remember when you came down to live and worrying about you being out so late with your job. I remember when you started to talk about Roger like maybe you had found someone special. I remember making the dresses for your wedding. It was such a nice wedding! I remember when you had Meghan. I can still see you standing at the top of your stairs in incredible pain before you went to the hospital the first time. I couldn't believe they sent you home. I remember spending time together with Mother. She loves babies!! Did we get any four generation pictures? I remember saying goodbye to both you and her in her living room that day. Very sad day. I remember worrying through Ryan's RSV and worrying when your house was broken into. I remember when you all came to live with us. So many more memories of long talks, games, laughing about the children, planning meals, trips to Utah, cabin trips, sharing life! I love to spend time with you. I'm so grateful for your "little" family and the fun times we continue to have together. Remember they shoot horses? Remember the good times with Deena and Maryanne? Remember the fire in the trailer? Remember the airplane bike? Remember kittens and puppies and birds and fish and hamsters? You are the first. So many memories! Love ya!!

Well... Most of my best memories have already been stated by the others, but there is a somewhat recent one that only we share! I remember one morning getting a flat tire on the way to work and not knowing what to do, but the first thing that came to mind was to call you! Even though you have 5 kids, and are probably constantly living a moderately crazy life you are ALWAYS willing to jump up and help whoever you can WHENEVER you can!! You came there and helped me get my spare on and then took me to work and still took my car in and got the tire fixed and everything! You are ALWAYS a person I can call in a crisis! It's going to be hard living here and not having that convenience... Nertz with you will always be a good memory... You are the nertz Champion! :) MANY other late night chats and game nights come to mind also! Road trips most definately come to mind also... The most recent one with my new road trip mix Cd's! So much fun!! I'm also grateful for all of the memories and examples you've given me with my adorable nieces and nephew! It's REALLY hard not being around them here also! I don't know how you do it... They are a handful, but there's no doubt in my mind that every moment with them has been worth all that they are capable of putting you through! :) Anyway... Thanks for all of the memories and examples you've given me! They're all priceless and precious to me!

Well, I'm afraid I'm going to have to be the one to write this... I will never forget the time we were having a sleep over at Sistrunks house for Young Women's (They don't have them now days I don't think... I wonder why?? ha ha).. Anywho, you, me, Suzy and not sure who else piled in my car and went and found a house to toilet paper. As we were sitting in my car mapping out this great plan, a cop pulled into the cul-de-sac (sp?) right up behind us with his spot light shinning bright at 2am. We all scrambled to make a plan of what we were doing and made Suzy our escape goat. We told the cop this was Suzy's house and she forgot her pajama's and we came to get them but her house was dark and we didn't want to wake her parents... I don't know if the police man fell for it (I doubt it) but he let us off the hook and we went back to Sistrunks and went right to bed. It scared us all enough that we figured T.Ping wasn't worth it...
I could go on about Young Womens with you. We had a great time. I loved the program and I loved you guys for making it so dang fun!!!!

That sounds like a fun vacation you had in June. Anyway, my favorite memory of you is when we went to Disney Land for a week. We had lots of fun memories there! More so at the hotel and car ride, but it was all fun.
