Cabin Trip 2011

So thanks to my fabulous sister and sister-in-law I can cut and paste a whole bunch of pic's. As usual our week at the cabin went way too fast. Love that place and the memories it brings back for me and creates for my kids!!

Have I mentioned I love this little man?

My brother in law Jay and his little one Courtney

My sweet niece Lydia

My cousin Arin and her hubby Chris

RaeLeigh catching a glow off the campfire

Who knew Roger's Autobot shirt was reflective?

Nieces Shelby and Lydia

Pretty self explanatory, eh?

Look at all those kids!
And this is not even all of them!

Crazy brother on the far right and a couple of brother in law's. Glad these bad boys got put away before my hubby got there (the motorcycles that is) :)

Motorcycles and crashing them

This doesn't really do justice to the nasty wounds that they really were!

Could this be any more overdue?

So a new post filling you in on the last year and a half just isn't going to happen, I'm just going to start fresh. Sad that I last posted while preggers with our sweet Dylan and now I am planning his first birthday party. This last year with him has been great. Figured I'll just post a couple of recent pic's and hopefully not wait another year plus before posting again!! Here's a few of my triathloners. Megs did her first kids one in St. George at the beginning of April. That random pic isn't just a sunrise either, there are a bunch of crazy men out there in the water ready to swim a mile out in Lake Mead, and Roger is among them! The last pic is our sweet Dylan after wearing himself out at grandma's house last week. He's been sweet and a joy to have at home. Couldn't love him more :)

A new family Christmas tradition!

So we decided to head to Boulder City for the Santa Train this last weekend. The kids loved it. It will definitely be a new tradition in our family!! I would totally recommend anyone go if they don't have plans on Saturday. Go to http://www.nevadasouthern.com/SantaTrain2009/ to get more info. It was a great, completely affordable family activity :) Just a few pic's from the day...

Ry's Accomplishment

Since Ryan is actually 7, a little old for this rite of passage, I thought I'd do a special post. My sweet little Ry finally lost his first tooth!! RaeLeigh has already lost 2 so we've been wondering if he was ever going to catch up to his little sister. His other bottom front tooth is loose as well so we'll see how long it takes for that one. Considering he got his first tooth 3 weeks before his first birthday, I kind of figured he may lose those baby teeth slowly. I didn't expect it to take this long, but I'm excited for him to have his first visit from the tooth fairy tonight :)

What the...

My kids say that all the time so I thought I'd use that for the subject as it was exactly what I was thinking. So I must say I was kind of surprised that the rumors were true about The Bachelor. Yes he picked Melissa (who I've been rooting for all season), then dumped her after the proposal so he could go back to Molly (who really was a close second all season for me too) I can't decide if I care. Truly it is better if that's how he really feels to just end it now and not fake everything, and maybe really have a shot with Molly. On the other hand he really did look like an indecisive putz. I guess if The Bachelor finally gets an actual marriage out of it (so far just one bachelorette has walked down the aisle with her man) then that's ok too. Sometimes it is a little funny to think that a short relationship that is built at the same time as 25 other relationships then played out for all the world to see (including the other 25) would actually work. I guess we'll see if this somewhat unconventional change is just what is needed. All I can say is, Melissa for the next Bachelorette?? :)

Maybe

Since this has been so fun to read for everyone else, I thought I'd copy ya'll :)

1. Put Your iTunes on Shuffle.
2. For each question, press the next button to get your answer.
3. You must write down the name of the song no matter how silly it sounds!
4. Put any comments in brackets after the song name.
So there's not a LOT of variety on my iTunes right now, looks like a bunch of Disney pop stars and Secondhand Serenade. Anyways, here goes...

If someone says "Is this ok?" you say? One Step at a Time - Jordin Sparks [Not bad advice as a general rule? :)]
How would you describe yourself? Hanging by a Moment- Lifehouse [OK, so that may be a little true?]
What do you like in a guy/girl? Love Story - Taylor Swift [So I think that one fell right in place!!]
How do you feel today? When you Look me in the Eyes - Jonas Brothers [Don't know that I have a response for that one :)]
What is your life’s purpose? Why - Secondhand Serenade [Luckily I think I already have the answer to that one :)]
What is your motto? Solitaire - Clay Aiken [Gosh I hope not!]
What do your friends think of you? Who Put the Alphabet in Alphabetical Order - They Might Be Giants [Does that mean I'm too wrapped up in my kids??]
What do you think of your parents? Stay Close, Don't Go - Secondhand Serenade [Haha, that one is a little ironic as they are basically moving to UT as soon as they can :)]
What do you think about very often? No Air - Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown [Gosh that's a little morbid??]
What is 2 + 2? Listen to Your Heart - Roxette [Um, because there are 4 chambers in the heart, hence 2 atrium + 2 ventricles = 4??]
What do you think of your best friend? We Rock - Cast of Camp Rock [Ok so maybe I have too many kid songs on here, but really, back in the day, me and my best friend really did used to Rock :)]
What do you think of the person you like? Titles - Vangelis [So that really is kind of funny as this song is on there because of Roger. In case you don't recognize the title, this is the Chariot's of Fire song, and yes, it does totally remind me of Roger :)]
What is your life story? Our Time is Here - Demi Lovato [Yup, once again I have too many Disney pop stars on here, but that does kind of motivate me to make that song my life story too :) ]
What do you want to be when you grow up? So Contagious - Acceptance [So it is a great song, but I'm not entirely sure how it applies in this question? When I grow up I want to carry virus's around all the time?? I guess if you stretch it to my kids carry virus's around constantly then that means I want to be a mom when I grow up? Or because I wouldn't mind being a teacher maybe I'll carry a bunch of virus's around myself?? :)]
What do you think of when you see the person you like? Tattoo - Jordin Sparks [Sorry but that one makes me laugh. Just go with the mental picture created when you think of Roger all tattoo'd Haha!!]
What will you dance to at your wedding? In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel [Good choice!!]
What will they play at your funeral? Just a Dream - Carrie Underwood [Kind of weird as it's about some elses funeral but whatever?]
What is your hobby/interest? Bella's Lullaby - Carter Burwell [Gosh that one couldn't have landed at a better time :) ]
What is your biggest fear? Can you find it? - They Might Be Giants [So, like my daily fear (or at least a concern or worry) is whether my kids will be able to find all the stuff they need without missing a bus, but I guess my biggest fear is losing a kid?]
What is your biggest secret? Like a Knife - Secondhand Serenade [hmmm…]
What do you think of your friends? The Long Way Around - Dixie Chicks [Not got much on that one except the first line says "My friends in high school" ?:).]
What will you post this as? Maybe - Secondhand Serenade [Guess I wasn't sure on that title?]

Albertsons

OK, so I finally got around to lining up groceries for a pic. Mind you this was my second trip, the first one was a bigger pile and honestly I was exhausted by the time I got home so it just went straight to the cupboard and fridge. The first trip I spent $109 out of pocket and saved $367 (77%, Whoohoo!!) and got food storage supply amounts of Bounty and Downey, soup, fruit snacks, all kinds of yogurt, as well as all the Fiber One products my family will need to keep themselves regular for months :) This trip I saved 75%. I spent $60.50 oop, and saved a whopping $177.12. I got 4 packs of yogurt cups, 4 boxes of Gogurts (these are awesome frozen btw. Cut them in half, push them up and they make a great little snack, and are MUCH less messy this way), 2 boxes of organic whole grain granola, 3 more Fiber One pancake mixes, 4 Minute Maid OJ's, 7 Betty Crocker frostings (anyone needs cupcakes for a bake sale, let me know :), 4 Mega packs of Pampers (though I will have to make a trip to trade the sizes), 2 yoplait adult yogurts :), 6 - family size bags of Green Giant brocolli and cheese, and 2 Minute Maid Pomegranate Blueberry juices. Yeah, I love saving :)

Thank you for the responses on Caillou btw, good to know I'm not alone out there :)

Have a fabulous day everyone!!

One of those not as up as the usual blog posts :)

So, this is a funny thing to blog but I have to know if I'm the only out here that can't stand Caillou?? I am generally a big fan of the shows on PBS Kids. Super Why, Wordgirl and world, Dragon Tales, Sid the Science Kid, all great shows. Then they have to trash their line-up by throwing this show in. Not like some of that show isn't educational (they just showed how you shear sheep to get wool to spin into yarn) but seriously, does my 4 year old need an example that whines, cries, and pouts (not to mention his name is a little freaky). Sorry if you're a fan, but I've had it in the background for the last 30 minutes and it's driving me crazy!! :)

I guess at least it makes me turn off the tv on my pampered, obsessed, addicted kids :)

On a happier note. I get to go to Albertsons when Roger gets home. I have my 3" stack of coupons all ready to go. Whoo hoo!!!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous day!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!

So to all of you in Utah that I have mocked as you've gotten slammed with snow while we still had our air conditioner on here in Vegas, I'm sorry :)

We are getting snow right now, and it's beautiful!! I love snow for Christmas, but I've seriously gotten used to not having to be in it all that much. My kids are LOVING it right now though. I'm so glad this hit on a day they are off for parent teacher conferences, because they are having a ball. Thought I'd add a few pics for the enjoyment of those in UT. Since it doesn't happen all that often, it's been a cool day :) I do feel bad for our poor little grapefruit tree though that's in one of the pic's. I'm not so sure that it's going to like this weather so much!!
